PLUS supermarkets: last mile delivery with chilled, frozen and non-refrigerated products
A cool start to our collaboration with PLUS Supermarkets; PLUS Teeuw and PLUS Buysse. They called in VebaBox for a solution for the transport of groceries. At Plus, attention to good food is central! That is why they offer pure and fresh products in the store, website or via the PLUS app. The ordered groceries can be picked up in the store or are also delivered at home by the PLUS entrepreneurs. With the emphasis on fresh, PLUS Teeuw and PLUS Buysse find it very important to deliver the groceries fresh to the customer. For this it is important to transport part of the groceries refrigerated, but how do you go about this? We were happy to think about this!
A cooling solution for all products
Plus Teeuw in Leerdam and Plus Buysse in IJzendijke have a refrigerated delivery service to offer the customer extra convenience. In order to be able to deliver high-quality products, their delivery van is equipped with a VebaBox. Henk Teeuw of Plus Teeuw proceeds as follows: “The cooled goods are first stored in our cells in the store and are placed in the VebaBox just before transport. The temperature at which we subsequently transport is just above 0°C because frozen products are also transported in it. This keeps the frozen products frozen to the core.” Because the VebaBox is placed at the side door of the delivery van, the products that do not need to be cooled can also easily be taken along on the route.
Isn't that cool?
